Neither COVID nor flu shots are included in Virginia’s childhood vaccination schedule. Any parent can choose not to give their children these vaccines.
Parents can opt out of giving their children the HPV/Gardasil vaccine by writing a statement that they do not wish their child to receive it. A school district may have a form to complete to opt out of the HPV vaccine, however, a form is not required only a statement that you do not wish for your child to receive the vaccine.
