Dr. Wakefield, a gastro-intestinal surgeon, is one of the most vilified physicians in history. He has been labeled the godfather of the anti-vaccine movement.
His research in the 1990s into the relationship between the childhood MMR vaccine, gut dysbiosis, and autism, set the medical establishment on edge. Dr. Wakefield violated the cardinal rule of questioning the establishment. For this crime, he was stripped of his medical license.
